Please be in prayer this morning for Peggy Thornton. Peggy will be undergoing robotic surgery to remove the cancerous mass in her lung this morning at Piedmont Hospital. She will be in the hospital for about 5 days. Please pray for the medical team caring for her and for peace, comfort and healing for Peggy. Thank you.
Please keep the family and friends of Nancy Chandler in your prayers. Nancy is the mother of Angie Shonkwiler, Joyce’s daughter-in-law, and very close lifelong friend of Joyce Shonkwiler. Nancy passed away on Sunday after a long battle with multiple illnesses such as MS and cancer (3 times). She has been under Hospice care for a year, originally not expected to live a couple months. She was a fighter but is now resting peacefully in the arms of Jesus. Joyce has requested prayer for Nancy on many occasions. Her funeral will be held this Wednesday at West Cobb Funeral Home on Macland Road. A link is provided below with the obituary and visitation (12-2pm) and funeral service (2-3pm).
If you would like to send a note or card of condolences to Angie & Marty, the address is provided below. Thank you.

Please share this update with my friends at Hollydale:
David is out of surgery. The crohn’s disease was more widespread than anticipated so they had to remove more of his small intestine. He is in recovery and my mom should get to talk to him once he wakes up. The big hurdle was making it through surgery and praise God for his blessings so far. The recovery will be difficult and he is still dealing with mesothelioma which is responding to chemo for now.
If anyone would like to send a card, here is the address. My mom has felt the love and prayers from Hollydale and I appreciate my Atlanta family.

Your Sister in Christ,
Melissa
Please be in prayer this morning for David, who is Melissa Wheeler’s mother’s husband. David is undergoing a highly critical surgery this morning and it’s not certain he will be able to make it through the surgery due to his health. He’s been struggling with very poor health for quite some time. The medical team are concerned about him having the surgery as well, and need your prayers as they perform the operation. Prayers for God’s hands on all in the operating room and for Donna, Melissa’s mother as she waits for answers. Thank you.
Please be in prayer for Matt and Ashley Thornton, Peggy’s son and daughter in law. Both have been admitted to Grady hospital. Matt’s condition is related to Covid but not certain about Ashley. Peggy’s son Luke is also struggling with kidney issues. Prayers for them all for answers, comfort and healing. Thank you.
Please be in prayer for Frank Bryant. Frank was in a scooter accident yesterday. His blood sugar spiked to 515 and he blacked out. He is at Kennestone Hospital in room G534. He has a broken jaw and part of broken eye socket. In addition to many bumps, scrapes, and bruises. Thank you.
Please keep Peggy Thornton in your prayers. Peggy underwent a lung biopsy recently and unfortunately it came back cancerous. She will be undergoing a PET scan and some additional tests and possibly surgery in September. She is very distraught with this news and needs prayers for comfort, acceptance and healing. Thank you.
An update on Blanch Kulp and her battle with lung cancer. Please see Ken’s message below. Good news and continued prayers are requested. Thank you.
PET SCAN found cancer fully contained to lower left lung and is at an early stage. She is a good candidate for robotic surgery. They will consult with surgeon this week and make a decision, most likely in favor of surgery. Prayers are working. Keep praying.
Their address is 12300 Morris Road Apt 112 Alpharetta Ga 30005, if anyone wants to send a card.
Up date on Ponch from Tiffany. Praise Report to all! Thank you very much for the prayers..you won’t believe the miracles! It was a long night and he did experience pain but by about zero dark thirty he finally got to a solid sleep for at least 1 hour straight..the miracle that I want to share is that his first surgery of the day was tonsils and adenoids...if you have ever had that done it is not fun at all - well, Ponce was barely affected...he was and still is eating good...I’m baffled because I compared when I had mine out in the 1980’s at 14 years old - I had a horrible time and did not eat for around a month- Well, we all know Ponce! He did not barely complain of pain and eats as he always does...he told me it was because of his guardian angel that he was born with named Apollo that he met in the Operating Room- I asked him when you were awake - he said no - I was asleep and he told me because of my sad 😢 prayers and scared when you had to stay behind the doors he told me he would protect me! Praise God- 🙏🏻... Then came time for the Medial Distal Femur Hemiepiphysiodesis Knee plate surgery-this pain was off the chart in the recovery room at first - and I could not see him until they got it controlled...CHOA did an excellent job! Praise God for these medical professionals- he is now walking on his own to the bathroom and managing pain well...we have 2 more requirements and obstacles and we may get to go home...thank you all...of course this video clip reveals the real Ponce being funny even on narcotics... update on Ponch from Tiffany.
Please keep Joyce Shonkwiler in your prayers. She shared with me this morning that she burned her hand recently and it is quite painful. She’s had medical attention for it, it’s all wrapped up and it’s healing but prayers would be appreciated. Thank you.
Prayer Request from Tiffany Evans for her son Ponch who is having surgery today. Please keep him in your prayers. Thank you. Hello Everyone! I am reaching out for praying hands this morning...
My precious child #4 - Ponce is going to be having surgery. It is hard to make decisions for another’s medical issues, however I feel after prayer it is the correct one...can everyone please pray for him as I ask for surrounding angels, God’s divine direction for his surgeons, doctors, nurses, and a hedge of protection over the entire procedures. In Jesus name I pray and ask for others to share in meditation.
Please keep Jim and Nancy Brubaker in your prayers. Jim is struggling with cancer and just recently went to do all the testing for a stem cell transplant. Pray for comfort, healing and wonderful response to the transplant. Also pray for the medical team working with them.
Carole sent another update on Cindy. See below. Please continue to keep them in your prayers. I have an update on Cindy. We took her to Emory St. Joseph hospital this morning. Her white blood cell count has dropped to 16. The doctors have to run some tests to determine what's causing it. Did have an abnormal reading on her liver function so will possible start there. Please keep praying
Received update and request for prayers this morning from Carole about Cindy. Please pray! Susan, please send out an urgent need for prayers for my daughter Cindy We had to take her to urgent care last night and they kept her. She had labs done yesterday which showed that she has major problems. Don't know if they will transfer her to St. Joseph hospital or not. Will update the info as I get it. Thank you.
Please keep Peyton White in your prayers. She is struggling with some things right now and God knows the details. Thank you.
Please keep Blanche Kulp and Ken in your prayers. Most will recall that Ken Kulp was our pastor at Hollydale for a couple years a few years back (2004-2005). Blanche has been diagnosed with lung cancer. Pray for comfort, peace, and God’s will to be done, believing His will brings perfect healing. Thank you.

Please be in prayer for Connie & Philip Cheek and their family. Philip is a former coworker of mine and both he and his wife Connie have contracted COVID-19. Philip is on a ventilator in ICU and Connie was doing okay but relapsed last night with several symptoms and had to be taken to the hospital. Their daughter Courtney has been providing updates and requested prayers. Below is her most current update.
As if this week hasn’t been hard enough...My mom relapsed yesterday and her symptoms started coming back full force. Fever, cough, weakness, shortness of breath, and just feeling downright awful. She was having a little bit of pain in her chest/back, and shallow breathing last night, and as she was being closely monitored with the pulse oximeter, her levels kept dropping into the 80’s so she was also taken by ambulance to the hospital in the middle of the night. Please pray for her healing and please also pray for her peace as I know she feels scared after everything my dad has endured (He is still on the ventilator). It has been an overwhelming week for me to say the least, but I will do my best to keep everyone updated as I can.
A good news update from Cortney....
UPDATE: We just received some wonderful news! They were able to reduce my dad’s oxygen from the vent down from 100% to 60%, his peeps (pressure being forced into the lungs) down from 14 yesterday to 8, and his Covid test FINALLY came back and it’s positive so they are now able to move forward with getting the plasma antibody treatment as well as other more targeted treatments! They are also hoping to try to wean him off the paralytic today, though he will still remain sedated. All answered prayers so please keep them coming!!
